This pair of vintage handcrafted likely solid oak bookends exemplifies-the American studio craft movement of the late 20th century, likely dating to the 1980s. Made from heavy, solid quarter-sawn oak, each piece has been carefully shaped with a distinct faceted design, showcasing skilled craftsmanship and an appreciation for the material's natural grain structure. The design features beveled corners on all visible planes, including the base and vertical supports, giving the bookends a sculptural, architectural quality. The flat-cut wood reveals medullary rays and flecks characteristic of high-quality quarter-sawn lumber, while the golden-brown finish highlights the depth and character of the grain.

The underside is secured with exposed flat-head screws-typical of hand made or small-batch furniture reinforcing their handcrafted nature. These bookends are functional and stable, able to support heavier volumes, and their weight and balance provide both durability and visual presence.Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear, including surface scratches, edge wear, and slight finish loss. No structural damage One corner exhibits a small chip (as shown in photos), consistent with honest use.A handsome and durable set of bookends that would complement interiors ranging from rustic to modernist.
