Possibly Norwegian Hand-Rainfed Resemaling Wall Pocket with Candlestick Holder or Miniature Vase, Signed by Kaja, 1990-Scandinavian Folk Art Decor.

This exquisite possible Norwegian wall pocket showcases traditional rosemaling, a decorative folk art painting style originating in rural Norway. Crafted from sold wood and signed by the artist "Kaja - 1990, this piece is both a functional wall shelf and a work of art.The scalloped, shield-shaped wooden backplate is richly stained and hand-painted with stylized floral motifs in earthy reds, creams, olive greens, and taupe. The painting features soft brushstrokes and scrollwork that embody classic telemark or Hallingdal regional rosemaling traditions. A small, circular shelf protrudes near the base supporting a miniature hand-painted vase with matching floral embellishments.

The artwork's three dimensional form and the depth of color offer an authentic reflection of late 20th-century Scandinavian craftsmanship. Ideal for small floral displays or as a standalone decorative accent, it's well-suited for a cottage, farmhouse, or traditional Nordic interior. Vintage condition consistent with age as pictured.
