After our viral Seattle reel took off [Click Here], we were flooded with requests to turn the Big Whale universe into merch. This design pokes fun at the local rumors that our shop on Aurora Avenue is secretly a money-laundering front (spoiler: it’s not!).
It features Demi—vintage dealer, reel maker, and accidental Aurora tour guide—navigating the beautiful chaos of running a small business while raising a whole ass baby.
The Collaboration
This piece features an exclusive illustration commissioned by Big Whale and created by local Seattle artist Michael Plondaya. Working closely together, Michael beautifully captured Demi’s vision for the piece — blending the humor, chaos, and charm of running a small business on Aurora while raising a whole ass baby. Together, the design reflects the authentic, grit-meets-gold spirit of North Seattle.
