This finely crafted chest of drawers, stamped 1817, is an exceptional example of early American craftsmanship.

Made from what is possibly solid mahogany with matched burl drawer fronts, the dresser features intricate diamond-patterned wood inlay framing each drawer, adding a refined decorative element

The case is fitted with four drawers -two smaller over two full-width-each joined with hand-cut dovetails and fitted with original turned wood knobs. The drawer sides are constructed from light-colored hardwoods, likely poplar or maple, contrasting elegantly with the darker exterior.

Gracefully turned front legs rest on original brass toned casters, while the rear legs remain tapered and and also on brass toned casters. A shaped apron along the bottom edge adds balance to the straight lines of the case. The top is smooth and slightly overhung with a gently molded edge, alluding to the delicate refinement of early 19th-century American furniture design.

Stamped "1817" on the back at the top, this piece has survived in remarkable condition, preserving its historical charm while remaining fully functional. Ideal as a collector's item or heirloom-quality storage piece, this dresser brings early American elegance to any interior
