The Holdfast Print

Description : Leafy Sea Dragons are real animals that camouflage with kelp. They live across the coasts of Australia in seagrass beds and rocky reefs. The holdfast is what anchors kelp to the sea floor. Unlike terrestrial plants, which use roots, the holdfast doesn't absorb water for nutrients; its sole purpose is to prevent the kelp from being swayed by the currents. I admire the way they drift slowly with the current. This piece reminds me that I do not need to hold on by force, resist the current, and anchor through adaptation.
