This antique countertop display case was produced by Alfred Noack, a noted early 20th-century maker of "High Grade Show Cases" based in Oakland, California.Noack operated out of 387 Fifth Street, as noted on the original brass maker's tag still affixed inside the case. His work is known for its craftsmanship, clean proportions, and quality materials, and this example reflects that legacy.

The case features a solid quarter-sawn oak frame with thick glass panels on all four sides, including a substantial glass top with polished edges. The hardware retains its aged patina and functions smoothly. A steel handle with timeworn finish is mounted to the front for easy opening.

The base of the interior is lined with what appears to be the original textured fiberboard or heavy mat board-ideal for showcasing delicate or valuable items without risk of scratching. All glass appears original, with no major cracks or replacements, and the wood exhibits a warm, aged finish consistent with its period. This case was likely designed for use in a jewelry store, apothecary, or dry goods counter. Its compact footprint makes it equally functional today for display in a retail setting, gallery, or personal collection of small objects or artifacts.

Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Scuffs to wood frame, minor clouding and scratches to glass. Brass and metal hardware show oxidation and patina typical of age.

Vintage condition as pictured.
